The neighborhood board is a group of up to nine volunteer directors, elected to serve 3-year terms, who oversee budgets, projects, events and the vision for the Southport neighborhood and act as a representative voice for neighborhood residents. The board strives to create community-building opportunities for neighbors, including forums to meet each other, learn about resources and discuss ideas, projects and concerns. The board meets monthly to discuss and act on issues affecting our community in the areas of: zoning and planning, crime prevention, beautification, promoting our business community, festival planning and other issues.
