The Planning & Zoning Committee ensures that all development, residential and commercial, within our boundaries is compatible with the needs and zoning standards of our community.

What projects has the committee reviewed?

  • 1113 W. Patterson: The owner of this site, proposed a new apartment building that required a zoning change from R 3.5 to B2-3 TOD (2020). Due to neighbors opposition, this project did not proceed.
  • Trace (3714 N. Clark) & Full Shilling (3724 N. Clark): New owners of Trace and Full Shilling bars, Last Call Tavern Group, applied for a new liquor license at Full Shilling and a PPA license for Trace. The two establishments created new Plans of Operation.
  • 1118-24 W. Patterson: The owner of the site, Repak Properties, proposed a new apartment building that required a type 1 zoning change from R3.5 to RM-5 (2018). The SNA Community Meeting polled neighbors who were overwhelmingly opposed. Owners modified their plans and the project eventually proceeded.
