What are SNA’s current committees and what do they do?

SNA’s committees are at the heart of what we do. We utilize targeted committees made up of volunteer residents to help direct our organization.

  • The Beautification Committee develops and implements beautification initiatives to make Southport cleaner and greener and enhance its visual appeal.
  • The Communications Committee maintains SNA’s website and Facebook page, runs our blog, and develops improved communications channels for SNA.
  • The Crime & Safety Committee promotes the safety and well-being of the entire Southport community.
  • The Planning & Zoning Committee works with the Alderman, property owners, developers and City Departments to ensure that all development, residential and commercial, within our boundaries is compatible with the needs and zoning standards of our community.
  • The Events Committee contributes to community life in the SNA neighborhood by organizing community events.

I’d like to join a committee – how can I get involved?

We’d love to have you! It’s easy to get involved – just:

  1. Join SNA
  2. Check out the individual committee pages (Beautification, Communications, Crime & Safety, Planning & Development, Events) to learn more about their functions and what they’re up to
  3. Attend a committee meeting or email the committee chair
  4. Apply your talents to enact positive change for our community!

I have a great idea for a new committee – what should I do?

Tell us your idea – maybe we could start a new one! Email us at info@southportneighbors.com.
