2023-2024 has been a wonderful year for Lake View High School!

Over 120 teachers, support staff, and administration have worked tirelessly to support the incredible student body of over 1,400 students.

Stay tuned for updates on LVHS’s 150th sesquicentennial anniversary (1874-2024) and help us celebrate our following SUCCESSES!

Congratulations to our graduating Class of 2024! Special congrats to Kelly Nguyen, our Valedictorian, and Sarai Salina, our Salutatorian! We are so proud of all their achievements!

We’re excited to welcome 360 new Wildcats to the Class of 2028! Orientation days are set for June 11th and 12th.

Scholarships, Art, Drama, Clubs, & More!

The LVHS Computer Science Program visited GOOGLE for an opportunity to apply the concepts learned in class of building a program with AI to recognize human movements.

The LVHS gaming students were approved for paid summer internships at Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, Calculated Genius and the IT Department at the Lincoln Park Zoo, allowing them to further apply the concepts they learned in class in a professional setting!

A record 19 Juniors were accepted to Chicago Scholars. Chicago Scholars is a highly selective out-of-school program that supports students in applying to college, winning scholarships, and transitioning to the next phase after high school. With about 500 scholars citywide, 19 is way more than our “fair share”–but we’re not complaining!

Robotics Team: Qualified for State again this year for the fifth year in a row with an 8th place win.

Debate Team: Two of our team members won the Red and Maroon Conference Championship because closing out the season at the City Championship.

Art Program: Student artwork was featured on Art on the Mart for the third year in a row. Three students were selected to the College Arts Access Program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Twenty-two students had artwork selected for the All City Arts Exhibition.

The Drama Club had amazing productions in the 2023/2024 season including: CLUE and  PETER PAN. Congratulations to the 25+ actors and crew that made the performances so successful!

Sports Highlights!

Boys bowling was UNDEFEATED this year!!!

Football had a winning record of 7-2, and of consisted over 66 student athletes!

Cross Country had 2 runners qualify for state. Over 40 student athletes ran this year!

Track & Field: Had over 85 students participate in an amazing season and Jebiril L. qualified for State and ran the 3200m in an impressive 9 minutes 27 seconds!

Boys Soccer & Girls Soccer had great seasons with over 90 student athletes on the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams.

Boys Volleyball took the Conference Championship!

Boys basketball ended the season with a 21-9 record & advanced to 3rd round in State.

Girls basketball: Imariz D. scored 1,000+ points in her amazing 4 year career becoming only the 2nd student in LVHS history to achieve this!

Boys Baseball had a winning season and Girls Softball’s star player, Imariz D., made CPL White all conference team and received the 2024 Ramiro Calixto Memorial Scholarship!
